CrossMacro for MAC

Free, open-source mouse and keyboard macro recorder: record once, edit the steps and replay them from shortcuts, schedules or triggers.

CrossMacro Overview

CrossMacro records your mouse and keyboard actions and replays them whenever you need them, without writing a script. It captures mouse movements, clicks, scrolling and keyboard events, together or separately. You can adjust playback speed, countdowns, repeat counts and delays, pause and resume a running macro, and save recordings as .macro files in a library.

A visual editor lets you change, reorder or remove recorded steps instead of starting over. You can add text, delays, clipboard and window actions, or build longer workflows with variables, loops and conditions, and wait for a color, an image or a window before continuing. Macros can start from a global keyboard or mouse shortcut, on a schedule, or when the focused window matches a rule. CrossMacro also expands short abbreviations into text and keeps work and other routines in separate profiles.

CrossMacro is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license, and it also runs on Linux and Windows. Version 1.5.2 lets one shortcut use several hotkey combinations and adds comments on macro actions. There are separate downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel, and it needs macOS 14 or later. The GitHub downloads are unsigned and not notarized, so expect a Gatekeeper warning on first launch; the project's macOS guide explains how to open the app. It also asks for Input Monitoring and Accessibility permissions, and Screen Recording for macros that read colors or images.
